Five Communities, Five Speed 6 Workouts
FIVE COMMUNITIES · FIVE DIFFERENT WORKOUTS
One performance shoe. Five running communities. Five ways to make a faster day useful. The Saucony Endorphin Speed 6 is a neutral road trainer with PWRRUN PBX cushioning, a nylon plate and SPEEDROLL geometry, designed for workouts and fast training. Here's where we'd use those features around our five shop communities.
These are suggested sessions, not reports of completed Speed 6 tests by staff. Adjust effort to your experience, check access and conditions, and give other people room on shared routes.

1. Binghamton / Johnson City
Binghamton West Side & Riverside Drive
SURFACE · Roads and sidewalks; crossings and neighborhood traffic.
THE WORKOUT
Progression run: 12 minutes easy, 18 to 24 minutes gradually quicker, 10 minutes easy.
LOCAL NOTE · Use quiet blocks and slow down at every crossing. This is a neighborhood session, not a measured closed course.
2. Corning
Downtown Corning, Houghton & Denison
SURFACE · Sidewalks, local roads and suitable park paths.
THE WORKOUT
Controlled tempo blocks: 3 x 7 minutes at a comfortably hard effort with easy recovery.
LOCAL NOTE · Choose uninterrupted stretches and keep priority on intersections and pedestrians.
3. Middletown / Hudson Valley
Heritage Trail
SURFACE · Paved or compacted rail-trail sections.
THE WORKOUT
Marathon-effort practice: 2 x 12 minutes steady with 5 minutes easy between efforts.
LOCAL NOTE · Use smooth segments appropriate for a road shoe; surface, shared-use traffic and access vary by segment.
4. Watertown / North Country
Black River Trail
SURFACE · Paved, gently graded shared-use trail.
THE WORKOUT
Out-and-back progression: finish the return leg at a faster controlled effort.
LOCAL NOTE · Yield to other path users and avoid treating the shared path as a race course.
5. Lake Placid / Ruthie's Run
Mirror Lake Loop
SURFACE · Village roads, sidewalks and smooth paths.
THE WORKOUT
Easy race-week shakeout with 4 to 6 relaxed strides only on a clear, safe stretch.
LOCAL NOTE · Traffic and busy areas make uninterrupted fast intervals a poor choice here.
Why choose the Speed 6 for these workouts?
The plated, rolling platform is designed for tempo work and sustained quicker efforts on smooth roads. Its 38/30 mm published stack and 8 mm drop distinguish it from a lower-profile racing flat. None of these route ideas call for loose, rooty or technical singletrack: pick a trail shoe for those outings.
Before you start
Bring your own training background to each session. A continuous faster effort is not appropriate for every runner or at every point in a training plan. Intersections, ice, changing trail surfaces and crowds take precedence over the workout. Local staff will add documented first-hand feedback as they test the production Speed 6.
