Confluence Running

Our take

We would put the Clifton 11 on the shortlist for everyday road runs and walks when you enjoy a cushioned shoe that rolls through the stride. The familiar EVA platform makes it a useful daily-mileage option, while the refreshed upper is the main reason to try this generation beside your older Clifton. For a livelier workout feel, compare the Mach family; for a different premium-foam ride, try Clifton Pro. The fit and rocker should feel natural at your usual pace.

Fit before category

Fit & feel

The engineered-mesh upper, softer sockliner and double-lace lock are the key fit details in this update. During a fitting, check that the heel stays seated and the tongue stays centered while leaving room across the forefoot. Width is a separate choice from length: compare available widths before sizing up solely for toe room. The rearfoot-focused Active Foot Frame cradles the heel, but this remains a neutral shoe. Bring your usual socks and compare both feet.

We fit shoes against your foot shape, width, comfort, movement and intended use—not just a label like “neutral” or “stability.”

How the shoe works

Technology & ride

Compression-molded EVA supplies the cushioning. Smooth MetaRocker shapes the transition through the stride, while a rearfoot-focused Active Foot Frame helps cradle the heel. The open-cell sockliner adds step-in softness; abrasion-resistant rubber covers the road-contact surface.

Overview and model development

Clifton 11 continues HOKA's everyday road-training family with an upper and sockliner refresh. Its compression-molded EVA platform and 8 mm drop make it worth comparing directly with Clifton 10; Clifton Pro uses a different premium foam construction rather than simply being the next numbered Clifton.
