Confluence Running
Our take
For uneven, rooty, rocky or loose trails, the Speedgoat 6 is a more appropriate tool than a smooth-road trainer. Its trail-oriented cushioning and Vibram Megagrip outsole with 5 mm lugs suit off-road runs, longer trail efforts and hikes. On steady pavement, consider a road shoe instead of trading away trail grip unnecessarily.

Fit & feel
Start with length, foot volume and secure heel/midfoot hold, then check toe clearance for descents. The lugs and platform should feel controlled on changing surfaces; test alongside another trail shoe if the tread or forefoot shape feels unusual. Do not assume a high-cushion trail shoe will fit like a road trainer. For this men's listing, confirm the specific size and width choices actually offered in the selector.
We fit shoes against your foot shape, width, comfort, movement and intended use—not just a label like “neutral” or “stability.”

Fit perspective: Trail runners differ on the Speedgoat 6’s firmness, width and break-in feel. A shoe that works well for one runner may not suit another, so we recommend checking fit and downhill security before race day.
